Ciel unveils new single from upcoming album
Formed in 2017 as a means for experimentation, Ciel released a demo EP called Odysseus 2 years later while working on the first album. Even though it was finished in the same year, the band silently fell into a hiatus until the beginning of 2023.
"Stoic Hero of the Absurd" sets the tone for a 30 minute journey into a sonic world of woe and anguish as "the Vast and Empty" tries to depict an inner world ravaged by depression. The album is scheduled to be released Friday evening, on the 4th of August 2023.

Even though it was finished in the same year, the band silently fell into a hiatus until the beginning of 2023. Ciel, French for Sky, represents the coronation of abstract notions. Since it's creation in 2016, it aims through each of its materials to reflect basic human emotions and experiences through a philosophical filter. From "Odysseus" through "the Vast and Empty" and now with "S.R.A.T.M.E.O.", it managed to showcase a personal evolution through both an emotional and ideological landscape.
